Papier blanchi sans chlore, vendu souvent comme papier bio ou éco. Cette appellation peut signifier beaucoup de choses : La cellulose peut être blanchie avec des composés chlorés au lieu de chlore [...] ou avec de l'oxygène. Les abréviations ECF et TCF indiquent plus exactement le processus de production du papier. ECF = «elementary chlorine free» = sans chlore élémentaire = blanchi avec des composés chlorés. TCF = «totally chlorine free» = totalement sans chlore = blanchi à l'oxygène.
